Abstract
Introduction: Mushtaq Ahmad Khan’s Resignation from Jamaat-e-Islami Marks a Significant Development in Pakistan’s Religious Political Landscape .The resignation of former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan from Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP) in September 2024 marks a significant development in Pakistan’s religious and ideological political landscape. This decision reflects the growing tension between intellectual freedom and organizational discipline within religious political parties in Pakistan. Khan's departure has implications for JIP's internal dynamics, ideological orientation, and political strategy, particularly in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), where JIP has historically maintained influence.
