Abstract
Egypt shares a border with Gaza at the Rafah crossing, the only exit not controlled by Israel, yet has consistently restricted its opening since Hamas took power in 2007.Despite claiming neutrality, Egypt has cooperated with Israel in enforcing the Gaza blockade, contributing to severe shortages of food, fuel, and medical supplies for over 2 million Palestinians.Egyptian authorities routinely close the Rafah crossing during critical periods, including during Israeli bombardments, delaying or denying humanitarian aid and evacuation of the injured.
