Abstract
Divine principles often emphasize virtues such as integrity, compassion, and accountability, guiding leaders and members toward a shared, ethically grounded vision. These principles for universal management refer to fundamental guidelines that harmonize organizational practices with spiritual or ethical values, aiming to foster holistic growth and ethical conduct within institutions. Maulana Abul A'la Maududi, a prominent 20th-century Islamic scholar and thinker, developed a comprehensive framework for governance and societal management rooted in divine principles. Central to his philosophy is the concept of ?akimiyyat-i Ilahiyya, or the sovereignty of God, which asserts that ultimate authority belongs to Allah, guiding all aspects of life, including governance. Maududi envisioned a state where laws are derived from the Quran and Sunnah, ensuring that governance aligns with divine guidance. In his seminal work, Islamic Way of Life, Maududi emphasized that Islam is a comprehensive system encompassing all fields of living, including politics, economics, legislation, science, humanism, health, psychology, and sociology. He argued that a society's adherence to Sharia is essential for its identity as an Islamic society, and that deviation from Sharia equates to breaking a covenant with God. This perspective underscores the importance of integrating divine principles into societal management.Furthermore, Maududi introduced the concept of "theodemocracy," a governance model that combines divine sovereignty with popular participation. This system emphasizes that while God is the ultimate sovereign, human beings are entrusted with the responsibility to implement divine laws through a consultative process, ensuring that governance reflects both divine will and human welfare. Maududi's vision presents a holistic approach to governance, where divine principles are not merely theoretical but are actively implemented to structure a just and moral society. His ideas continue to influence contemporary discussions on Islamic governance and the integration of religious principles into public life. Incorporating divine principles into management not only enhances organizational effectiveness but also contributes to the personal and spiritual development of its members, fostering a culture of ethical excellence and shared purpose.
