Abstract

Syed Abul A'la Maududi, a prominent Islamic thinker of the 20th century, has left a profound intellectual and ideological legacy that continues to influence the youth of the present world. His critical analysis of Western ideologies, particularly socialism and capitalism, offers a unique Islamic alternative that appeals to young minds seeking purpose, justice, and identity in an increasingly polarized global society. Maududi rejected both socialism’s atheistic materialism and capitalism’s exploitative individualism, proposing instead a comprehensive socio-economic system rooted in Islamic principles. His vision emphasizes moral responsibility, social equity, and spiritual fulfillment, encouraging the youth to challenge oppressive systems and advocate for an ethical and balanced society. In the face of rising global inequality and moral confusion, Syed Maududi’s teachings inspire a new generation to engage in intellectual revival and socio-political activism guided by Islamic values, thus shaping a contemporary Islamic consciousness that resists the extremes of both socialism and capitalism.
