Abstract

The Holy Quran presents an amazing description of life on this earth, indicating
integration and interdependence of various growth factors, that, Allah, under His
attribute of “Al-Rahman” created these resources and appropriate capacities and capabilities for sustenance of life on this earth. There are several verses which
relate to the sustenance of life and Allah expresses in a comprehensive manner the
fact that in Qur’an, there are signs for the people who understand (Chapter 2:165),
signs for people who believe, (Chapter 6:100), that you may remember (Chapter
7:58) and for people who reflect (10:25).
Alternation of day and night as mentioned in (Chapter 2:165) plays a key role in
photosynthesis, the key process whereby light energy is fixed by plants during day
time and converted to energy at night time to supply growth needs. There are
several hidden processes which take place during the day and during the night and
this results in a supply of our food.
In this presentation, the aspects of alternation of day and night will be explained in
detail to understand the description revealed in The Holy Quran. The author will try
to synthesize all the factors which are needed for plant growth and how Allah
created the mechanisms to achieve an integration of water, temperature, wind,
green color and other factors.
