Plagiarism Prevention Policy
Visit Website | Submit Manuscript
Consortium Publisher strictly adheres to the ethical standards and best practices in scientific publishing, as recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). All submitted manuscripts are subjected to a rigorous plagiarism screening process to ensure academic integrity, originality, and compliance with international ethical norms.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the unethical act of copying or closely imitating the language, ideas, data, or thoughts of another author without proper citation or acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying of text from previously published material without quotation or citation
- Paraphrasing large sections of another work without credit
- Self-plagiarism (duplicate publication of one’s own previously published material)
- Improper reuse of data, images, or results without appropriate permissions
Screening Process
Every manuscript submitted to Consortium Publisher journals is checked using reputable plagiarism detection tools such as:
Manuscripts with a similarity index above 15% (excluding references, quotations, and author-published content with proper attribution) will be flagged for review and returned to the author for revision or rejection, depending on the severity.
Author Responsibility
It is the responsibility of all authors to ensure that:
- The submitted work is entirely original
- Proper citations and references are provided for all sources, including their own previously published work
- Written permission is obtained for the use of copyrighted materials
Authors are strongly encouraged to consult resources such as the COPE Flowcharts and WAME Recommendations when in doubt about citation or originality.
Editorial Action on Plagiarism
In cases where plagiarism is detected:
- Minor overlap (e.g., methods reused with attribution): Manuscript returned for revision
- Moderate overlap: Manuscript may be rejected with explanation
- Severe plagiarism (copying entire sections, figures, or data): Immediate rejection and blacklisting of authors
In proven cases of ethical misconduct post-publication, the article will be retracted following COPE’s retraction guidelines, and institutions may be notified.
