AHSS is an annually published, broad-spectrum, peer-reviewed journal circulated electronically since 2016. Its diversity is apparent in the variety of theories, methods and approaches, avoiding the common limitation to one school, approach or academic branch.
AHSS invites theoreticians and practitioners to submit manuscripts embracing the full range of quantitative and qualitative research methods, as well as reviews or short communications containing new insights into any aspect of the humanities and social sciences. It particularly welcomes manuscripts that explore inspirational ideas, are written in innovative ways, or are presented in experimental ways. It also invites proposals for thematic issues on a broad range of subjects.
All manuscripts are normally reviewed by at least two referees, in addition to the Editor-in-Chief. Refereeing is anonymous unless a referee chooses otherwise, and referees' comments are passed intact to authors, apart from occasional editing. The Editorial Board takes a very active role in selecting and refereeing papers. The Editorial Board has the right to reject a manuscript if, after the first review, it is repeatedly submitted with unsatisfactory corrections.
Articles appear individually as soon as they are accepted and ready for circulation.
Advanced Humanities and Social Sciences follows the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) definition of open access. Published work is shared under an open licence as described by Creative Commons, so anyone can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text of articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, freely and without a subscription or delay.
Manuscripts are received and processed through Open Journal Systems (OJS) of the Public Knowledge Project (PKP).
