Toronto's Halloween Celebrations Bring Cultural Activities and Public Safety Planning Together
Toronto's Halloween on Church festival was expected to draw more than 80,000 people, with major traffic restrictions and crowd management arrangements.
TORONTO — Toronto's Church-Wellesley Village hosted its annual Halloween celebrations on October 31, bringing together entertainment, costumes, music and community participation.
The Toronto Police Service anticipated more than 80,000 attendees and announced road restrictions to manage pedestrian movement and emergency access.
Church Street and nearby sections of Wellesley Street were affected by temporary closures extending into November 1.
The event illustrates the contribution of neighbourhood business associations, local cultural organizations and municipal services to large-scale public celebrations.
Police encouraged participants to use public transportation and remain attentive to personal safety in crowded areas.
Halloween programming across Toronto also included family-oriented activities, cultural performances and public events celebrating community diversity.
