At Consortium Publisher – ICDTD Inc., Canada, we are committed to advancing global scientific knowledge and supporting equitable access to academic publishing. As part of our mission to promote inclusivity and eliminate financial barriers, we offer a Fee Waiver Program to assist authors who may lack the resources to cover article processing charges (APCs) or other publishing fees.
Eligibility Criteria
Fee waivers or partial discounts are available to authors who meet any of the following criteria:
· Researchers affiliated with institutions in low-income or lower-middle-income countries, as classified by the World Bank.
· Independent or early-career researchers without formal funding.
· Graduate students submitting original research or review articles.
· Authors from organizations or regions affected by humanitarian crises, conflict, or natural disasters.
Each application is assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure fairness and transparency.
Types of Waivers
We offer the following options based on need and submission quality:
· Full Waiver – 100% waiver of the publication fee.
· Partial Waiver – 25% to 75% discount depending on funding availability and review outcome.
· Deferred Payment Option – For authors expecting future funding or reimbursement.
All waivers are subject to approval and available for original research articles, review articles, short communications, and case studies published across our peer-reviewed journals.
Application Process
To request a fee waiver:
1. Before submission, email your waiver request to office@consortiumpublisher.ca with the subject line:
“Fee Waiver Request – [Your Manuscript Title]”
2. Include the following information:
o Full name, affiliation, and country of residence.
o Title and abstract of the manuscript.
o Explanation of financial need and justification for the request.
o Any supporting documentation (e.g., institutional statement, funding denial, student status).
The waiver request must be submitted before the peer review process begins. Late requests may not be considered.
Important Notes
· The Fee Waiver Program does not influence the editorial decision-making process. All manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review in accordance with COPE standards.
· Waivers are limited and granted on a competitive basis, depending on funding availability and the strength of the application.
· Authors who receive institutional or grant-based funding are encouraged to use those sources for APCs to help support fee waivers for others in need.
